History

Hospice, Serving Davis and Wapello Counties is the only independent, not-for-profit hospice located in the community. Founded in 1982, Hospice, Serving Davis and Wapello Counties is a community-based and volunteer-driven organization that provides exceptional, high-quality care.

We are the most experienced hospice care provider in the area. Having the only in-patient facility in our two-county area of service, we have operated a Hospice House since 2004. Hospice serves all of Davis and Wapello Counties, including the communities of Ottumwa and Bloomfield, as well as the rural areas and other towns in the counties. We also serve the surrounding townships in Appanoose, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, and Van Buren Counties.

"We are so appreciative of all the help you gave our family at a time when we were in need. We now know how important your organization is to our community."
